The MelodyHunt blog is ran by a group of bloggers who love music. Our goal is to find bands that aren't very well-known, and sing our praise about the ones we enjoy.
How Did we Get Here?
We love music. We love music so much that we get bored with our favorite bands faster than they can produce quality music. It's not the artist's fault, as all good things take time. We came to realize that listening to the radio wasn't giving us the new music, just more of the same things.
I swear if I have to listen to one more band that sounds like Nickelback, Seether, Puddle of Mudd, or any other "radio rock" band I just might snap.
So, we turned to Pandora radio. Sure, we found a few bands that we missed out on over the years, but in the matter of a few months, we quickly dried up that well. We needed more.
That goes for the Sing-talking robot voice that the USA is currently calling "Pop" music, too.
Now, using a combination of resources, we began finding new music left and right! We began finding music from local and small bands that we loved so much, that we wanted to share them with the world!
How Do We Support Artists?
We use Amazon's affiliate programs to allow you to preview the music, and if you like it, give you a chance to purchase it. We use iTunes, but prefer Amazon. Why do we primarily use Amazon? Amazon pays the artists a higher percent than other services out there (in our findings.) Also, because they pay the bloggers better than other services. Yes, we do get paid a small commission when you purchase music through our website, but it does not take any money from the artist's portion of the album sale. In other words, if you like our blog, and you like the band, support us and the band by purchasing the albums through our site!
