This week I stumbled onto a band that reminds me a lot of Escape The Fate. Falling In Reverse has a definite similarity to them, mainly because its the old lead singer's new band. If you liked ETF then you will for sure like FIR. They have a pretty good mix of heavy and soft, but it's the vocals that stand out for me. It isn't overwhelming with the screams, but instead it has more vocals similar to The Used, and a similar lyrical content at times compared to Psychostick.
So for there album The Drug In Me Is You, I decided to give it a good listen and try to dissect it. The first song on the album comes out with a bang, Raised By Wolves show you what the band can do, with a great mix of a little bit of everything, including a little bit of synth which i didn't see coming from them at all. Listen for yourself below.
Sink Or Swim is my favorite on the album, with a chorus that has an amazing sound and catchy tune. It jumps away from the metal at one point and keeps things new feeling without the same repetition, but then goes right back to a very heavy guitar and drum part.
As for other songs worth mentioning, The Drug In Me Is You, Good Girls Bad Guys, and Goodbye Graceful are all great songs to give a listen, and then purchase the album. Overall Falling In Reverse is a good transition between metal and screamo that will keep you tapping along to the beat and learning the words before you can teach your grandparents what a superman is. So purchase their album The Drug In Me Is You, and leave me comments below and tell me what you think of them.
