Album Review: The Icarus Account-Sunshine And Rain

(Insert catchy phrase here)...MelodyHunt.com

Lately acoustic has felt right, so I'm going to continue with that theme for now. This weeks artist has been around for a while now, but doesn't get quite the recognition that they deserve. The Icarus Account is a pretty simple acoustic band hailing from Fort Meyers, Florida. Their latest album Sunshine And Rain is a short one, with only four songs on it, but they are all sweet songs that tell a story. Give them a listen below.

Of the songs on the album my favorite falls to ironically, Favorite Girl. This song tells of the love he has for that special someone in his life. It reminds me of my special someone and songs like that really speak to me. Its part of the reason that I liked The Icarus Account in the first place. Since the band is only a duo (two members) there isn't much going on other than two guitars and a lead vocalist, but each does the job well.

Yellow Shirt is another song that is both peaceful and simple. Yet it again tells you a story in the lyrics, and that is a good quality that not many bands these days have. Come Back Home is more of a sad song that makes you feel bad for whatever he did wrong with this girl.

In hindsight, The Icarus Account is a great acoustic band that everyone should have on shuffle in their iPods or whatever basic mp3 player you have. So support them below by purchasing Sunshine And Rain, and check out some of their other albums as well. I'll end with a question, what genre of music should I review next week? Comment below to let me know.
